GIFTS DIFFERING

As we proclaim in our UU principles, we are part of an interdependent web. But how do we manifest that in our appreciation of our gifts and recognition of the variety of different gifts that we have and share with each other? Under an industrial worldview, we tend to applaud the “number of widgets” someone produces. But what if we considered this through a more agricultural lens, and thought about our gifts as seeds, the sun, the rain, the soul, and various microorganisms – all the components that contribute to growth and blossoming?
